We have been fitting aluminium guttering for over 25 years.

It was our father, Barry Purdy, who established the business in 1962. After school he served his apprenticeship as a roofer with Kesteven Roofing. Feeling adventurous after marrying in 1961 (and with the spirit for building a family), Barry set himself up as a labour-only subcontractor for a tile manufacturer, tiling roofs across the region.

In 1970 Barry made his business into a Ltd Company - BJ Purdy & Sons. He began advertising for trade work and landed a contract with Leeds City Council roofing buildings throughout the region. In the mid eighties, when most contractors were fitting maintenance-intensive PVC and wood based guttering, Barry recognised a gap in the market for aluminium guttering. The advantages - which among other things include having a life span of at least 30 years - made aluminium guttering the perfect answer to the troublesome wood and PVC.

Joined by his two sons - John and then David, BJ Purdy & Sons became Purdy's Trade Gutters. Now into 2013 and 51 years after Barry founded the business, Purdy's Trade Gutters have fitted thousands of gutters for both domestic and commercial customers.

If you are considering high quality aluminium guttering, give us a call, we'll be glad to offer our advice.
